For anyone who isn't familiar with the Open House tradition, its when a family that lives far from where the wedding and reception took place throw a casual party in the hometown of the bride or groom so that friends and family that couldn't make the trip can get together and celebrate. And The Heap's wrote the book on these parties. Perfect location, perfect food, perfect music, and of course, perfect company. The loveliest night with the loveliest family... thanks for having me, Heaps!

The Villas Family | San Diego LDS Temple
Saturday, April 19
It was an honor to memorialize this sweet family's special day at the LDS temple. Their excitement and love for each other was completely contagious and left me smiling all week. Congratulations on your big day, Villas Family!
A Marine's Homecoming | Miramar Airforce Base, CA
Monday, November 11
If you know this family, then you love them. Last week I photographed their reunion after a 7 month deployment, which I totally cried through, and these images are still making me smile and tear up. Its not every day that we can be so deeply touched by the reality of the sacrifices these servicemen and families make for our country. It is humbling and beautiful. I'm grateful to have been invited, and I'm grateful this is my job. Welcome home. Happy Veteran's Day everyone!
Herb en Routes | Point Loma, CA
Wednesday, October 2

I recently photographed an amazing pop-up dinner by my good friend, Chef Kari Rich, at the Herb en Routes urban farm. The place is just as charming as it's owners, Paige and Danielle, and it was really interesting learning about what they do there. I've never had such a literal farm-to-table meal and it was, of course, incredible. There is something so visceral about smelling and walking among the plants that your dinner came from. I'm suddenly dying to make space on our little city patio to plant some things that my kids can touch and smell and eat! Thanks for having me, girls. I can't wait to come back.
